With our different talents and jobs, we start as professional support staff. And end up as friends.
Angela Brown, customer service representative.
I was 12 years old when my brother was born and diagnosed with severe hemophilia. My parents were unable to take advantage of the support offered by the hemophilia community, so when my son was born and diagnosed with severe hemophilia just like his uncle, I decided that we would take every opportunity to be active. I have worked with Mid-West Cornerstone Healthcare since August 2006 as a customer service representative ensuring the services we offer to families are of the highest quality possible. With a background in elementary and special education I also bring a love for teaching and learning to the table.
Currently, I live with my husband, Matt and my son, Spencer, in Ozark, Mo. We are active members of the Gateway Hemophilia Association and Midwest Hemophilia Association participating in chapter events, socials, education and camps. Away from work I enjoy photography as a hobby.
My vision for all families in the hemophilia community is for them to gain the knowledge, skills, and independence needed to enjoy an active, joy-filled life.

Mimi Law, patient advocate.
In 1979, I married my husband, Mark, and entered the hemophilia community. He's a moderate hemophiliac who treats like a severe. Before homecare, we made many emergency room visits that often ended with Mark being admitted to the hospital. Our daughter, Kimberly, is also a carrier. Read more.
I've worked as a registered medical assistant in a pediatric office and as director of the IV room at the local hospital. With the advent of homecare for bleeding disorders came improved family life. That inspired me to become a patient advocate with Mid-West Cornerstone Healthcare in 2000, serving the Gateway Hemophilia Association, Hemophilia Foundation of Illinois, Midwest Hemophilia Association and both national chapters.
I live with my husband, Mark, and kids, Zach and Kimberly, in Sullivan, Mo. I love barbecues, hanging out with family and friends, and riding four-wheelers.
I've served three terms on the Gateway Hemophilia Association chapter's board, and I still serve on the legislative and meeting committees. The lifelong friends I've made in our chapter have eased my journey with hemophilia. I believe there is nothing in life like true friends and those relationships that we cherish forever.

Noel Minor, infusion nurse specialist.
In 1991, I began working in a pediatric intensive care unit and then in a pediatric doctor's office. I went to work as an infusion nurse in hemophilia homecare in 1994 and was hired by Mid-West Cornerstone as an infusion nurse specialist in September 2009. Read more.
I love to teach about hemophilia. I attend hemophilia camp each summer and teach kids how to infuse. It's awesome to see kids do their own infusions, sometimes for the first time. I teach infusion clinics, too, striving always to show patients and their families something new to make things easier or more efficient.
I live in Wichita, Kan., with my two sons, Chase and Corbin, and two dogs, Marley and Boss. I like to swim and garden. Away from the boys, I admit, I love chick flicks!
My goal with Mid-West Cornerstone Healthcare is to teach families how to do infusions. Knowing how to handle their own infusions gives patients and their families the independence they need to be able to travel without worry.

I have no family members with hemophilia, but I do have friends with the bleeding disorder. I'm comfortable working with people, I think in part due to my training as a Marine. In the Marines, I learned about different cultures and languages. My time as a Marine taught me to not be afraid of asking people questions. I can connect with almost anyone from almost anywhere in the world.
I live in Highland, Calif., and I have two kids, a son, Sebastian, and a daughter, Marisol. My hobbies include collecting sports memorabilia, traveling, cooking and working out. I love trying new things and meeting new people.
